November that is. Not that I have anything against November. In fact, November is often an awful month…cold, wet, full of essay deadlines and always seems to last forever because December (along with my birthday and Christmas) is lurking just around the corner. Well, this November has still been cold, incredibly wet and full of essay deadlines, however, I have also had the added stress of writing a 50,000 word novel and a mad dash to finish my boyfriend’s advent calendar in time for December 1st.
But…
That’s right! On the 29th November (with a whole day to spare!) I finished my 50,000 words which makes up the first draft of my novel! Although it looks like I have a whole year of editing in front of me, I am really looking forward to the next stage of the process. As a thank you to all of the team at NaNoWriMo, I made a $10 donation to the non profit organisation, because without their hard work and inspiration, I would never have had the motivation to churn out 50,000 words in only 30 days, and I certainly wouldn’t be well on my way to having a novel! I would urge anyone who has taken part, or anyone who would like to take part in the future, to make the tiny donation (that works out less than £6.50) to ensure that this can keep running every year to help inspire future writers.
I would also like to apologise for neglecting my blog throughout the busy month, but now my novel is written, I am putting editing on a back burner until January, so I can catch up with my blogging! I have so many things to tell you about so there may be a slight backlog of posts that will inundate you for the next few days so that I can fill you in on all of my comings and goings throughout November!
Also, don’t forget that today is your last chance to enter my giveaway so make sure that you don’t miss out!
Great job!!!
Thank you 🙂
Well done on finishing. It is a brilliant achievement. Give yourself a big pat our back. How on earth did you find time to finish the advent calendar and do uni work too?
Do you have long left until your uni Christmas holiday? Are you a Christmas baby then?
Thank you. I am very happy 😀 haha I have no idea! Only two weeks left! I am indeed! Well, it is my birthday on the 12th…I was due nearer Christmas but I was early…I obviously didn’t want any joint presents!
Congrats on completing your 50,000 word challenge. What an accomplishment. You deserve a break.
Thank you! I will be having a break from my novel but unfortunately I have some university work that won’t wait! Maybe i can relax when I have graduated!
